One 3-hour session

Pre-req: Beginner’s Knit or equivalent

Skill Level: Confident Beginner/ Intermediate

Stranded Knitting can seem intimidating, but with the right project and guidance, your first project can be a stress-free success! Come and join us with Rachel of Born&Raised Knits in this workshop which covers all the basics of fair isle knitting, including demonstrating one-handed and two-handed methods of stranded knitting in the round, as well as tension control while knitting with three colors on one row. This workshop uses Born&Raised Knits Maize Cowl pattern as a guide. Up your knitting skills!

Homework to complete before class:

  • Please cast on and knit up to the first round of colorwork before class (Gather will open at 10am on the day of class so students can get yarn and cast on right then, if they’d like – or stop by during the week before class to take your time picking colors!)

Skills covered include:

  • Pattern reading
  • Reading charts
  • Stranded knitting techniques
  • Knitting in the round
  • Tips & Tricks for successful knitting projects
  • Finishing

What you'll need (all of which can be purchased for 10% off by class participants):
