On Our Needles

It might be 100 degrees outside but we’re still knitting up a storm at Gather. It’s always fun to see what the knitters here are up to and we thought we’d share - here’s what’s on our needles and hooks!

Tifanee, Gather proprietress and bad ass crocheter/ knitter is working on lofty and lovely The Observatory by Kate Davies, using Cumulus by Fyberspates, as part of our August knit-along. The silk/ alpaca mix yarn is truly as soft and fluffy as a cloud and the perfect complement to Davies’ shawl. She is also busily crocheting leaves to add to the Weeping Willow Installation

Hanna, knitting teacher at Gather and frequent Sunday Social hostess is hard at work on Andrea Mowry’s Wool and Honey. We’re in love with this pattern and we might have to follow Hanna’s lead and cast on our own! We’ve got lots of great fingering weight options for this pattern including Quince & Co’s Tern and In the Deep Hue Sea’s Sibuyan

Kim, knitting teacher, you can often find her holding down the Gather fort on Saturdays. Kim is one prolific knitter with an assortment of projects going at any one time. She recently completed Leila Raabe’s Deschain in Quince & Co Kestrel - the perfect sweater for summer nights!

You’ll find Rachel here on Wednesdays, updating the website and occasionally knitting unicorn squares. She is currently working on her first cardigan (and nailing it!), Hannah Fettig’s Lineal Cardigan. She is using Quince & Co’s Piper in Laredo, a deep purple colorway. Piper’s natural halo will add the perfect touch to this cardigan!

Sasha, knitting teacher and Facebook updater works at the shop on Thursdays. She is having a lot of fun with Lavanya Patricella’s DK Toe-up Brioche Socks  using soft and squishy Yarn On The House’s Big Sister. She is also working on Elizabeth Smith’s Nerissa in Quince & Co’s Willet, inspired by the recent trunk show at Gather!

Stop by the shop to show us what you’re working on, or grab everything you need to start a new project!
